BOC appoints former BP executive Lyn Grobler to board (Update-1)

Bank of Cyprus’s board of directors decided today to appoint Lyn Grobler as a non-executive member, subject to approval by the European Central Bank.

Lyn GroblerGrobler, currently chief information officer at Hyperion Insurance Group and member of the company’s executive committee, “shall hold office until the next Annual General Meeting and shall then offer herself for re-election,” Cyprus’s largest lender said in an emailed statement on Tuesday.

Grobler, who studied electronic data processing at the Cape Peninsula Technology University, worked for BP for 16 years before it left the energy giant in December last year.

Bank of Cyprus, the island’s largest lender also said that its board appointed Annita Pavlou as its new investor relations manager.

“Information concerning the bank is provided to shareholders, prospective investors, brokers and analysts in a prompt and unbiased manner, free of charge,” the lender said in an emailed statement on Tuesday.
