Registered jobless number drops to 26,436 in October, lowest since 2010

The number of registered unemployed dropped in October 22 per cent compared to the respective month of 2016 to 26,436, the lowest since December 2010, the statistical service said.

The seasonally adjusted number of people without a job registered at the district labour offices fell last month an annual 17 per cent to 31,228, which is the lowest in six years, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Friday.

The decrease in unemployment last month was mainly on 1,332 less jobless in the area of construction, 1,286 in trade, 973 in public administration, 771 in hotels and restaurants, 625 in financial and insurance services sector, 620 in manufacturing, and 686 among newcomers, Cystat said.
