Bolerstone Trading Ltd, a company controlled by a vice-chairman of Bank of Cyprus, sold 62,500,000 shares, representing 0.7 per cent of outstanding shares, the company said.
Bolerstone was commenting in a statement at the website of the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
A Bank of Cyprus source who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Bolerstone is related to vice chairman Vladimir Strzhalkovskiy.
Another person with familiar with the matter said that Lamesa Holding S.A., a member of Renova Group, which controls 6.2 of Bank of Cyprus’s shares acquired the shares disposed by Strzhalkovskiy.
